Amit Sharma Grabs National Award for Badhaai Ho: Inside List Of Winners

Badhaai Ho has been grabbing headlines for all the right reasons. At the 66th National Film Awards, Badhaai Ho managed to grab eyeballs and win the hearts of critics. The film which released in 2018 featured Ayushmann Khurrana, Sanya Malhotra, Neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao in pivotal roles.
Badhaai Ho Director Amit Sharma grabbed a National Film Award for Best Popular Film category. While Surekha grabbed the award for supporting actress, she was seen essaying the role of a nagging grandmother in Badhaai Ho. The actress graced the function in a wheelchair and received a standing ovation.
In an interview, the Surekha stated "I am feeling really excited about this. It makes me so happy. I want to congratulate the writers of the film. They wrote a very good script. I also thank Amit Sharma for directing this film".
The filmmaker stated in an interview, "I didn’t expect that ‘Badhaai Ho’ will be getting so many awards, “I am overwhelmed. I did not expect that ‘Badhaai Ho’ will be getting so many awards. The critics loved the film, and the audience loved the film.I’m really really happy to be here.” Amit Sharma added.
2018 and 2019 seemed to be a good year for Bollywood celebrities. A list of winners includes Vicky Kaushal's URI: The Surgical Strike. The movie received several accolades. URI won the Best Director, Best Sound Design and award for Best Background Music.
Whereas Padmavat minted awards for Best Music Direction, Best Choreography for (Ghoomar) and Best Male Playback Singer award won by Arijit Singh (Binte Dil).
Badhaai Ho is a 2018 drama/comedy which revolves around a 25-year-old man Nakul and his mother. The story unravels when his mother gets pregnant. The movie minted around Rs 221.44crore at the box office. The movie is penned by Shanatanu Srivastava and Akshat jointly.
