On Thursday IIT Madras came with the new degree it launched a 'tech MBA' program for undergraduate students of all engineering streams of the institute. It is a dual degree program, which will be implemented by this year i.e introduced from 2019-2020 and will have an intake twenty-five to thirty students. This degree will be of five years named as tech MBA on completion of this course an individual will have a two-degree i.e Engineering UG degree (B Tech) and Master's degree in Management (MBA). It helps the four-year undergraduate to learn about the new field in the fifth year which will be very beneficial and will have knowledge of engineering and management.
Institute's Department of Management Studies (DMS) conceptualized the course the tech MBA during the third and fourth years of all UG programs and for entering in the fifth year the eligibility criteria are CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average), departmental aptitude test and/or personal interview.
