Largest one-day jump in COVID-19 case in India | Coronavirus Outbreak | 21 Days Lockdown Nationwide

According to the COVID-19 reported cases in India, the largest number of cases reported in 24 hours. India has reported around 376 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide tally of the confirmed cases to 1637. The hike in cases has been reported when more than 6,000 people attended the Nizamuddin Tablighi Jamaat congregation which is now considered to be the biggest coronavirus hotspot in the country. About 5,000 people have been sent to quarantine at homes and hospitals while efforts are going on to trace another 2,000 people across the states.
Health Ministry officials have agreed that the cases have risen due to the people in Tablighi Jamaat congregation which took place in mid-March but also says that however, it doesn’t show a national trend. Amidst all this, the center has asked all states and Union Territories to launch on a “war footing” the contact tracing of all participants of the Tablighi Jamaat congregation in Delhi’s Nizamuddin which has emerged as the coronavirus hotspot.
The cases in India are rising despite the nation-wide 21 days lockdown announced by the Prime Minister till 14th April. So far 1,637 COVID-19 cases have been reported out of which 133 people have been recovered whereas 38 have died from it. The country is aiming for every possible way out to stop the spread of the disease whereas it is likely to see economic downfalls as well. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called the pandemic the most challenging crisis since World War II and one that will bring a recession that has no parallel in the recent past.
