Who says you need money to fulfill your dreams? To achieve dreams one requires hard work and perseverance which is undoubtedly proven by 24- year-old IAF officer Anchal Gangwal, a tea-seller’s daughter from Madhya Pradesh.
The journey for Anchal was full of crests and troughs but none of them stop her to follow her passion and fulfill her dream. Her father has been selling tea in Bhopal for more than 25 years and did not even have money to pay for her education but blessed he is to have a daughter like Gangwal who is now an inspiration for many.
“Her commissioning was a proud moment for our family, but we could not make it (to the Air Force Academy at Dundigal) to see her due to the corona virus-induced restrictions,” her father Suresh Gangwal, who works as a tea seller at a bus stand in Neemuch district, told PTI. Her father further told me that she got her motivation to join IAF in 2013 when she saw defense personnel helping people during the Kedarnath floods.
“She was a bright student and also a basketball player. She first wished to join the Air Force after seeing the IAF personnel helping people during the Kedarnath tragedy. And, now her dream has come true,” Suresh said.
Her father told to media that she pursued her dream by collecting information from bookstalls to understand how to prepare for exams and her hard work and dedication finally made her clear the exams in her sixth attempt. “One can understand my financial condition. At times, I faced problems with depositing her school or college fees. I had to borrow money from others on many occasions to deposit the fee. Sometimes I had to pretend to be out of town to delay fees deposition,” her father, who has studied till Class 10, said.
Anchal Gangwal’s dedication has become an inspiration for all and her success is even acknowledged by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, who congratulated her for making the state proud.
