Over the last few years, India has denied any initiative talks citing to the cross-border terror activities saying these activities have to be stopped before any talks can begin.
However, talks have started to gain momentum between the parties after Imran Khan called PM Modi to congratulate him for his impressive victory in the Lok Sabha elections. The foreign ministry said PM Modi had called Imran Khan for appreciating his gesture and thanked him.
Since Uri attack in 2016, the relations of two nations have not been on the good terms then after the Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists killing 40 CRPF jawans in Jammu and Kashmir Pulwama on Feb 14. Soon, we witnessed India’s retaliation in the form of air-strikes on a Jaish camp in Pakistan Balakot on Feb 26.
