World Youth Skills Day
AMICI In 2019, 16% of the global population is aged between 15 to 24 years. But these 1.2 billion people are almost three times more likely to be unemployed than adults and are continuously exposed to lower quality of jobs, and other inconveniences.
Additionally, women in this category are more likely to be unemployed and underpaid. They are also more likely to work under temporary contracts or part-time jobs. AIESEC To combat these issues and spread awareness about the same, the United Nations (UN) declared July 15 as the World Youth Skills Day (WYSD) in 2014. The theme for the 2019's WYSD is to shed light on the mechanisms needed to operationalize lifelong learning.
