On April 10, Safoora Zargar student of Jamia Milia Islamia University was arrested under the unlawful activities prevention act (UAPA) for criminal conspiracy in Delhi riots from February 23 to 25. She was engaged in the activity to compel the Government of India to withdraw the citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). She challenged the order of the trial court as they denied her bail on the grounds of a medical condition as he is in her 23rd week of pregnancy. The court said in this case that if you choose to play with embers, you cannot blame the wind that they carried the spark a bit too far and spread the fire.
But finally, Delhi high court granted bail to her on June 23rd on humanitarian grounds bi si sign a personal bond of rupees ₹10k and she's also required to follow some conditions -
1. She should not be indulged in any activity which is not permissible by law especially those activities for which she is being investigated.
2. She should cooperate in the investigation and she is not allowed to hamper the investigation process.
3. If she wants to leave the Territory of Delhi then she is required to take the permission of the concerned court with proper jurisdiction.
4. She is required to get in touch with the investigating officer in the interval of every 15 days through a phone call.
